This is Our Youth

Lunatix Theatre presents Kenneth Lonergan's acclaimed coming-of-age drama This Is Our Youth at fortyfivedownstairs, bringing one of contemporary theatre's most sharp, funny and emotionally uncompromising portraits of youth to Melbourne audiences.
A raw, witty, and deeply human portrait of youth on the edge.
Set in an apartment in 1982 on Manhattan's Upper West Side, This Is Our Youth follows three young people caught between adolescence and adulthood. Warren, Dennis and Jessica stumble through drugs, sex, money and ambition as they try to work out who they are - and who they might become. As stolen money, unspoken desires, and uncertain futures collide, the play captures the exhilarating chaos of growing up with remarkable honesty, humour, and emotional precision.
With Lonergan's signature blend of razor-sharp dialogue and profound emotional insight, This Is Our Youth remains as relevant today as when it first premiered, speaking to the anxieties, aspirations, and contradictions of a generation searching for identity and connection.
