Make 'n' Movie – Practical Magic
Bring your project, settle in and enjoy a little movie magic!
Join Heritage Hands for a relaxed evening of creativity, community and cinema at the historic Sandgate Town Hall, featuring a screening of the much-loved film Practical Magic (1998).
Bring along your knitting, crochet, embroidery, hand sewing, mending, sketchbook or another portable creative project and enjoy making while watching the film.
Free drop-in basketry with Monique Ross
As part of the evening, artisan basket maker Monique Ross will offer a free drop-in introduction to raffia basketry and coiling. Have a go at this traditional handcraft, discover the techniques and enjoy the pleasure of making something by hand. No experience necessary.
Whether you're an experienced maker, a curious beginner or simply looking for a different kind of movie night, everyone is welcome.
Presented as part of Heritage Hands Festival – Sandgate 2026, celebrating the skills, stories and people keeping handmade traditions alive.
