Oud Vibrations -Joseph Tawadros with Gregg Borschmann | Lyrebird Festival Hub Conversation 1
Festival Hub adjacent to The Old Stables - Lot 101
An internationally renowned Oud player, fashion icon, Member of the Order of Australia for services to music, and recently donning the floppy hat while being awarded an Honorary Doctor of Music Degree by the University of NSW, Joseph Tawadros is the real deal.
Joseph has also become a fierce advocate for multiculturalism in Australia, racking up tens of thousands of views of social media for his musical commentary, in jingle form, on everyone from Pauline Hanson to Donald Trump.
As our special musical guest of the Lyrebird Festival, Joseph Tawadros will be interviewed by Gregg Borschmann, who has spent decades travelling in and writing from all corners of remote Australia.
Since the 1990s, he's worked as an oral historian for the National Library of Australia. In 2020, he left his position as a senior producer on ABC Radio National Breakfast to pursue writing natural history books. His current project on the koala will be published by Simon & Schuster. Together with Penny, he's grown up a family and lived in the upper Blue Mountains for the past 30 years.
Gregg has generously championed the Lyrebird Festival over recent years and contributes immensely to make this event an occasion of excellence, inspiration and good cheer.
