Lore of the Wild Soul: A Mythopoetic Exploration with Nature
Blenheim Gallery and Garden
A gentle, creative exploration of our connection with the more-than-human world. Through guided nature mindfulness, Celtic nature mythology and reflective practices, we will open ourselves to the stories, symbols and wisdom that emerge through our relationships with the living world.
Together, you will explore the ancient art of myth-making as a way of finding meaning, deepening a sense of belonging and reconnecting with the wild, imaginative parts of ourselves. What might the plants, animals and landscapes around us have to teach us about who we are, and who we are becoming?
Drawing inspiration from the ancient Welsh legend of St Melangell and the Hare, we will explore how an encounter with an animal can become a powerful story of protection, courage, compassion and sanctuary.
Through creative reflection and art-making, you will be invited to choose an animal or plant that holds personal significance and use its qualities, symbolism and presence as inspiration for a small, personal and empowering myth of your own. No artistic experience is necessary; this is an invitation to explore, imagine and create in your own way, allowing images and stories to unfold rather than striving for a perfect result.
Art materials and light refreshments will be provided during the process.
