Gravity & Other Myths and SAZ – Mortal Coil - WOMADelaide

Botanic Park / Tainmuntilla

Contemporary circus company Gravity & Other Myths (GOM) joins forces with acclaimed Rajasthani musical trio SAZ for the first public showing of a new collaborative work, exploring the cycles of life that bind us all, bookended by the unknown. Mortal Coil sees the artists of GOM move in orbit around the musicians of SAZ, at the centre of a conversation between music, dance, acrobatics, and storytelling. Together, these forms begin to explore the joy of growth, the trials and transformations of living, and the cycles that carry us through a lifetime. SAZ draws on storytelling passed down through generations of Langa musicians, honouring tradition alongside the creation of new work, while GOM continues to push the boundaries of contemporary acrobatics in exploration of human connection. Be amongst the first audience in the world to experience Mortal Coil, as art and collaboration take shape before your eyes. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body. Mortal Coil is also supported by Jodhpur RIFF.
