The Paper Plane Project

Ellipsis Gallery

The Paper Plane Project opens at Ellipsis Gallery in Woolloomooloo. The Paper Plane Project is a limited series of 500 numbered and signed glass sculptures of a paper plane by Sydney glass artist Mark Wotherspoon. Each is a clear glass form of four joined triangles, the simplest expression of the idea he calls Trianglism. The sculptures are sold in strict order, and each one costs its edition number in dollars, so the first costs one dollar and the last costs 500 dollars. There is a limit of one per person, so visitors who arrive early on opening morning have the best chance of the lowest numbers. For a first-time collector, it's a rare way into original sculpture. Entry is free. Ellipsis Gallery is on Level 1 at 41 Crown Street, Woolloomooloo, upstairs from Viand restaurant.
