Rose Marimon | The More You Look, the More You See

Strathnairn Arts Woolshed Gallery

'The More You Look, the More You See' brings together abstract works by Rose Marimon, also known as Rosy Myart, primarily created between 2023 and 2026. The works span paper, panel and canvas. Working from her studio at Strathnairn Arts, Rose creates black and white works in acrylic and pigment ink, using line, pattern, layering and contrast to draw attention to things that are often hidden, softened or ignored. The exhibition is arranged across three main collections: smaller, more contained works; larger, bolder works; and a surveillance-focused collection that explores the tension between watching and being watched. Across the exhibition, the works reflect the world as Rose experiences it: the people who are overlooked, the damage we accept, the systems we move through every day, and the things we do not always question. Rose asks viewers to slow down and look more closely, to notice more in her works and in the world around us.
