In Fragments: Art-Making with Sherds

Hellenic Museum

This is Analog Art Club – inspiration, without interruption. In archaeology, broken pieces of ancient pottery are known as sherds. Once part of a whole, these surviving fragments are still able to reveal a lot about their original vessel, and the art, history and culture of their creation. In this session, participants will select their own pieces of (modern) sherds, paint them with their own design, and then attach either a magnet or a brooch clasp to create a piece of unique decorative or wearable art.
