Fellows' Forum: Getting to know you, the craft of biography
State Library of NSW
Matthew Devine (David Scott Mitchell Memorial Fellow, 2021) joins Monique Rooney (Nancy Keesing AM Fellow, 2023) and Alistair Rolls (Visiting Fellow, 2026) to discuss how the collections at the State Library of NSW are supporting the writing of three very different biographies. Hear about Matt's work on the largely forgotten but long-serving Government Architect Ted Farmer; Monique's project to write the first full-length biography of much-loved New Zealand-Australian author Ruth Park; and Alistair's research to write the story of the fictional private eye Mavis Seidlitz, created by Australian crime writer Carter Brown.
The State Library NSW gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Foundation, its members and the donors whose gifts make the Fellowships Program possible.
