Hands-on-History: Fitzmaurice Street Stories

Wagga Wagga

Discover the stories, rumours and hidden history of one of Wagga Wagga's earliest streets at Hands-on-History: Fitzmaurice Street Stories. Part of Wagga Wagga's Street x Street initiative, the event invites curious locals and history lovers to investigate tales of secret stairways, hidden cellars and possible underground tunnels. Join guest local heritage expert Chris Roe, Senior Producer at SBS/NITV, for an interactive workshop, take part in a guided Street History Stroll, and choose from specially curated private tours exploring local architecture, archives, cemetery stories and Wiradjuri perspectives. Across the program, historians, archivists, storytellers and local experts help uncover what is fact, what is folklore and what remains a mystery.
