Deep Listening to Nature with Andrew Skeoch

Fish Creek Memorial Hall

Andrew Skeoch is an educator, author, naturalist, environmental thinker, and one of Australia's best-known nature sound recordists. He will guide you into hearing the communications of nature: developing your listening skills, identifying species by ear, recognising behaviours and repertoire, and finding empathy with the voices of other beings. Deeper listening also allows you to hear the integrity of entire ecosystems, and reveal what the interactions of creatures tell you about how natural systems function to achieve sustainability. Andrew's presentations are an immersive weaving of evocative recordings, fascinating spectrogram analysis and original ideas. This event was made possible thanks to the West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority.
