Nature Studio 2026 - Meet the Grasslands

Mine Hill

Look down and discover our critically endangered native grasslands with therapeutic horticulturalist and artist Emma Lewellyn. This warm and accessible introduction to nature journaling invites people of all ages and abilities to play with scale and notice what so often goes unseen: a rich ecosystem of micro-beauties right beneath our feet, set against the expansive landscapes of Burra. Together we'll explore the slowscape—a world that invites us to move more mindfully, look more closely, and discover how caring for nature and caring for ourselves are deeply connected. About Emma Emma Lewellyn blends nature, wellbeing, art and education to help individuals and communities live more connected lives, resonant with nature. In both her independent work and with the public engagement team at Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium, she develops therapeutic horticulture, artistic interventions and nature-based wellbeing programs that invite people to reconnect with the natural world.
