Walk for Peace. Peace in the City.
Adelaide City - start Victoria Square, visit 10 locations, end Peace Park
Walk for Peace - Peace in the City brings people of all backgrounds together for a 7km community walk celebrating connection, unity, and goodwill.
It will start at Tarntanyangga – Victoria Square and end with a celebration at Peace Park - Karrawirra on Sir Edwin Smith Drive, North Adelaide.
The Walk for Peace – Peace in the City is a 7km journey, with the option to walk the whole route or just sections, where participants visit symbolic Peace Poles carrying messages of peace in different languages. Along the way, Peace Ambassadors greet walkers at various poles and share inspiring words. Peace Poles can be found across Adelaide, including St Mary's College, The Muriel Matters Society, Adelaide Oval, and St Peter's Cathedral.
The event celebrates everyday acts of peace, like choosing respect over judgment and conversation over assumption, and aims to make everyone feel they belong. Bringing together schools, multicultural groups, community organisations, businesses, residents, visitors, and people of all ages, it's an inclusive event accessible for walkers, mobility aids, and prams. Highlights include peace reflections by ambassadors, and a children's peace song. The event is organised by Rotary Adelaide to promote peace and harmony in the city.
