Drawing the figure in the space
Riddoch Arts & Cultural Centre
Join Penola-based artist, Dagny Strand, for an engaging artist-led drawing session inspired by her current exhibition at The Riddoch. Beginning with a tour of Tide be runnin', Dagny will share her creative process: from observingthe world around her, to her preliminary sketches of everyday people, through to her evocative final paintings. In this workshop, Dagny will encourage participants to explore different approaches to tell stories through their figure drawings.Referencing your own photographs or sketches, or a provided reference image, participants will experiment with reinterpreting their subject, by altering details and introducing new elements. This session is best suited to adults who already enjoy drawing and are comfortable working independently. Basic materials will be supplied, and participants are welcome to bring their preferred drawing tools.
