An exciting art exhibition at the East Gippsland Art Gallery showcasing emotional portraits and quirky still live, created using graphite pencil and charcoal. The artist's work is centred around graphite pencil drawings of portraits and people in their most symbolic environment. Through black and white imagery, the art brings a nostalgic tone, reminiscent of old photographs and collective memories. As viewers examine the details and expressions of a portrait, they are invited to discover unique traits and hidden stories, fostering a deeper understanding and empathy. Ultimately, portraits serve at connecting everyone through a sense of familiarity, emotion and self-reflection. On the flip side of the artist's creative mind is the more playful, less structured side—the fun side.
