Josie Coffee - Gateshead

In an industrial pocket of Lake Macquarie, Josie Coffee is a roastery café with a loyal following and a sharp focus on quality. Named in memory of a local barista who made her mark on Melbourne's specialty coffee scene, Josie is all about substance over flash. Thoughtful roasting, skilled brewing and genuine hospitality. Inside, the café feels equal parts working roastery and relaxed community hub. You'll often spot staff at the cupping table or chatting with regulars about what's currently on offer. The offering changes with the consistently, featuring micro-lots and single cultivars sourced for clarity and character, roasted on-site and served with care. Josie Coffee doesn't chase trends. It's a place for people who are serious about coffee; whether you're chasing a perfect flat white or keen to explore the latest washed Ethiopian. The vibe is easygoing, the staff are coffee-literate without being preachy, and the beans are some of the best you'll find in the region. Open for take-home bags, dine-in brews, roastery tours and public coffee tastings.
