The Planting Festival 2027
Woodfordia
The Planting is Woodfordia's three-day nature, music, culture and regeneration event, held on Jinibara Country in the Moreton Bay Hinterland, just over an hour north of Brisbane.
Set within Woodfordia's 500-acre regenerated cultural parkland, The Planting invites visitors to slow down, camp, swim, listen, learn and take part. Across the weekend, audiences experience live music, environmental workshops, hands-on landcare, citizen science, practical demonstrations, children's nature learning, storytelling, cultural ceremony and Lake Gkula.
The event is designed for families, nature lovers, culture seekers and curious travellers who want more than passive attendance. Visitors can learn practical skills, join conversations about regeneration, explore the landscape, take part in hands-on activities and experience Woodfordia after dark through night-sky and nocturnal nature programming.
A major family focus is the Dirtgirl World precinct, where children are invited into playful, practical and nature-connected learning. Inspired by Woodfordia's broader Naturehood vision, children are encouraged to notice, make, grow, restore, imagine and contribute.
The Planting offers a range of accommodation options, from camping to glamping-style stays, with the event experience centred around Woodfordia's bushland setting and Lake Gkula.
Visitors leave with more than memories. They carry practical skills, a deeper sense of connection and a renewed understanding that caring for place can be joyful, creative and shared.
