Mount Sugarloaf

Mount Sugarloaf, at 412 metres high, is a mountain in the Hunter Region offering breath-taking panoramic views of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Cessnock, and Maitland. Historically significant to the Awabakal people, Mount Sugarloaf offers a range of short, family‑friendly walks with some moderately challenging sections. The tracks vary from gentle strolls (275 metres) to longer paths (1.6 km) with steps and steeper sections, making them suitable for most visitors while still giving a light hiking feel. Be sure to check the summit for the best views. Equipped with toilets, picnic areas, barbecue facilities, and car parks, it's a family-friendly destination. Its diverse trails and natural beauty makes it a remarkable Hunter Region landmark.
