Creative Age
Heide Museum of Modern Art
Everyone has the capacity for creative expression and enjoyment. Heide's Creative Age program is designed specifically for people living with early stage dementia and their carers. Sessions promote social engagement, health and wellbeing through nature and the nonverbal avenue of art.
Join qualified art therapist Tanis Douglas in Heide's beautiful gardens, sculpture park and galleries for life-enhancing small group activities that facilitate interpersonal connections. Each session includes art therapy utilising nature-based materials in a workshop setting and is adapted to best suit individual needs and bridge any barriers. Participants will experience the emotional and social joys of being with others in a welcoming environment.
Art therapist Tanis Douglas is trained in integrating art and psychology and sees all program participants as respected collaborators, assisting them to express themselves and access their creativity.
Regular weekly or fortnightly attendance can be beneficial.
