Cowra Canola Experiences
Cowra Visitor Information Centre
Every spring, the countryside around Cowra puts on one of its best shows, transforming into a patchwork of brilliant yellow and green. And there's more than one way to experience Cowra's famous Fields of Gold.
Take the road less travelled on one of Visit Cowra's favourite self-drive loops. Head through the backroads to Woodstock, spend the day exploring Canowindra, follow the Chiverton Loop by car or bike, or make a bigger adventure of it through some of the Central West's spectacular farming country. Along the way, stop for a country pub lunch, discover local villages, grab a great coffee and take in those big country views.
Want to get beyond the roadside? Join Eucalyptus Tours for a two-hour, small-group guided Canola Tour, combining local stories and knowledge with special access to locations you simply can't experience on a self-drive adventure.
Or see the gold from above on a Cowra Canola Scenic Flight, where rolling farmland, winding roads and huge blocks of flowering canola create an unforgettable view from the air.
Start at the Cowra Visitor Information Centre and ask a local what's looking best.
Enjoy the view. Respect the farm. Stay behind the fence, photograph from public areas and leave every crop exactly as you found it.
