You'll experience a grounding to Country, inspiring yarns, learn the various uses of native flora by Taungurung People and see cultural heritage. You will understand about the contemporary expression of culture and cultural practices of today and the importance of having Taungurung People caring for Country to keep culture and connections strong for future generations.
You are welcomed to the Euroa Arboretum (the Arb), a regenerated pocket of Taungurung Country that is actively achieving positive outcomes for healthy Country (biik). Learn about the proud Taungurung story, alongside the inspiring Euroa Arb story. This experience is as much about the celebration of meaningful partnerships as it is about our proud Culture and biik. In this environment of regenerated grassy woodlands, typical of what Country would have looked like pre-colonisation, your Cultural guides share the ways in which cultural life, both traditional and contemporary, are inextricably linked to healthy biik. Begin with a Welcome and Grounding ceremony, followed by a guided walk along the daanak trail to learn of seasonal native plant species and their uses for food, medicine, fibre and cultural practice. Taste bush foods, enjoy yarns and give thanks to the seasonal abundance and diversity of Country.
Join Taungurung artist and Elder Uncle Mick Harding to celebrate the story and art of culturally modified trees - a cultural practice that is as important today as it has been for over 60,000 years. Visit culturally modified trees on Country to learn of their techniques and importance, and share a bush foods barbeque, and enjoy yarning and stringybark rope making workshop. Yarn, walk, learn, listen, and make.

Begin with a Welcome and Smoking Ceremony, then journey on foot through the biodiverse wetlands as you learn about native plants, deep cultural knowledge, and sustainable land care passed down through generations. Pause for morning tea and yarns with your guides, before gliding through the stunning Tahbilk Wetlands on an informative eco-cruise. Then, come together over a long table lunch at Tahbilk Estate with seasonal, shared plates crafted by the chef. Your journey ends with a visit to the historic Cellar Door for a private wine tasting, a fitting close to a day of deep connection, culture, and community.
