Sail Airlie Easter Regatta
Whitsunday Sailing Club
Since becoming an annual event in 2009, the Whitsunday Sailing Club Easter Off the Beach Regatta (Sail Airlie) has become a key fixture on the Queensland sailing calendar, attracting competitors from across the state, including sailors travelling from Brisbane and beyond.
In 2021, the event coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Whitsunday Sailing Club, celebrating the milestone with the largest Sail Airlie regatta to date, featuring more than 140 boats racing across five course areas.
Planning for this year's regatta is already well underway, with an exciting program both on and off the water. In addition to the traditional coaching clinic followed by three days of racing, the event will also host the WASZP State Championships and WASZP National Championships, bringing some of the country's most exciting high-performance foiling dinghies to the Whitsundays.
Billed as a family-friendly sailing event, the regatta offers opportunities for sailors of all ages and abilities. From junior sailors developing their skills to experienced competitors racing at a high level, the event highlights one of the unique strengths of sailing — a sport that welcomes participants across all age groups and genders.
