Castlemaine and District Festival of Gardens: The Solace of Gardening
Various locations
Explore stunning private gardens during the Castlemaine and District Festival of Gardens. A curated selection of 20 gardens will open their gates to the public for ten days up to, and including, Melbourne Cup Day.
Whether you're an avid gardener or simply enjoy nature's beauty, these serene havens provide inspiration and relaxation in equal measure.
The theme of the festival, The Solace of Gardening, recognises how the garden, and indeed the act of gardening, holds such a special place for so many of us.
In an area renowned for its accommodation, eateries, orchards, wineries and landscape, the Festival of Gardens is an idyllic two to three-day getaway. Featuring grand country gardens, historic gardens, town gardens, veggie gardens, sustainable gardens, small cottage plots and gardens that will inspire and delight.
For over 27 years the gardeners of Castlemaine and District have opened their front gates and welcomed visitors in to enjoy the fruits of their labours. They hope to welcome you into one or all.
