Elephant Trail Race

Cairncross State Forest

Elephant Trail Race celebrates its 10th year in 2027, welcoming runners back to the spectacular Cairncross State Forest on the NSW Mid North Coast. Set on a demanding 25–27 kilometre loop with approximately 1455 metres of elevation per lap, the event showcases rugged climbs, lush forest trails and sweeping mountain views. With distances ranging from a free 2.5 kilometre Kids Race to ultra‑endurance challenges including 25 kilometre, 50 kilometre, 75 kilometre (3‑day staged), 100 kilometre Solo, 100 kilometre (3‑day staged), 160 kilometre and the signature 217 kilometre, the race caters to both new trail runners and seasoned ultra athletes. Six distances earn ITRA points, making Elephant Trail Race a recognised qualifier for international trail events. Located just minutes from Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Telegraph Point, the event highlights the natural beauty of the Hastings region and takes runners through NSW Crown Lands and the traditional Country of the Birpai People.
