Departing from Melbourne, the day begins with a visit to one of the area's true icons, Balgownie Estate where you will enjoy a tasting from their extensive range of quality wines. Then continue to a Yarra Valley Dairy, where your tastebuds will be working overtime tasting the region's most stunning cheeses. We'll next visit the famous Four Pillar Gin Distillery to indulge in a delicious paddle tasting of their internationally recognised gins. Enjoy lunch at the fabulous Rochford Wines where you will enjoy a one course meal with a glass of wine, tea and coffee. Take some time to explore the gift shop and enjoy the panoramic views After lunch you will make your way to the amazing Yarra Valley Chocolaterie to taste a range of their delicious handmade creations. You'll return to Melbourne knowing you've experienced the very best of the Yarra Valley.
Departing Melbourne, travel first to one of Melbourne's most colourful attractions, the Brighton Beach Boxes via St Kilda. Take a brief stop here for a wonderful photo opportunity. Next up is the award-winning Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park to learn about and interact with a wide range of Australian animals. Hand feed kangaroos, emus and wallabies, and find out about the extensive range of conservations programs run here to ensure the survival of numerous less common species including Tasmanian Devils, Southern Hairy Nosed Wombats, and many more. Also included in your visit here is the 'Conservation in Action' wildlife show. Explore the rugged coastline at the Nobbies and look out for the offshore seals at Seal Rocks. And then it is onwards to the main event, where just after dark every night the world's smallest penguins waddle ashore after spending the day fishing out at sea. You will be truly enchanted as the stars of the show emerge from the surf and pass right before your eyes on their journey back to their homes. Your guide will ensure you are able to get the very best vantage point to enjoy the nightly spectacle that is the Penguin Parade.
Experience the spectacular Great Ocean Road on a full-day tour from Melbourne with Go West Tours. “The Prom” as it is widely known, was the first National Park established in Australia in 1898 and remains one of Victoria’s most loved and cherished natural attractions. This pristine slice of natural wilderness will inspire you with its panoramic views, pristine white beaches, coastal forests, cool climate rainforests and well-preserved walking tracks. The Prom is home to many marsupials, such as kangaroos and wombats, native birds and other native animals such as emus, which with a bit of luck you are able to see up-close. The best way to explore the Prom is on foot, so you will no doubt enjoy your stroll along some spectacular tracks & be entertained by the pure white quartz ‘singing sands’ of Squeaky Beach. An opportunity is available to enjoy either a gentle rainforest walk at Lilly Pilly Rainforest or amazing panoramic views from the summit of Mount Bishop which we climb via an easy to medium graded walking track.
