Campbell House 1882
Looking for luxury group accommodation in Victoria?
Welcome to Campbell House 1882 — a magnificent heritage mansion perfect for family reunions, milestone celebrations, or group getaways. Located in Castlemaine, this beautifully restored property offers the ideal blend of historic charm and modern comfort.
The mansion carries a story as captivating as its design. Built in the late 1800s by Scottish settler Andrew Campbell, it was inspired by his love for the daughter of poet Robert Burns. He built the home for her, but tragically she passed away only two years after arriving in Castlemaine. Andrew remained in the house for the rest of his life, and his story lives on in every corner of this remarkable residence.
Today, Campbell House is the largest and grandest property in the Castlemaine Boutique Accommodation collection. Featuring nine elegant bedrooms, three bathrooms, and flexible bedding options, it accommodates up to 18–20 guests. Spacious living and dining areas make it easy for groups to gather and celebrate, while original fireplaces, chandeliers, and antique touches preserve its timeless elegance.
Modern conveniences such as central heating, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchen ensure comfort throughout your stay. Outside, the lush private garden — complete with a towering palm tree — creates the perfect backdrop for group photos or quiet moments.
Experience the history, elegance, and luxury of Campbell House 1882.
