Central Deborah Gold Mine

At Central Deborah Gold Mine you have the unique opportunity to explore an authentic gold mine that successfully operated during the gold rush boom, extracting 929 kilograms of gold. Don a hard hat to descend 61 metres underground on a guided Mine Experience Tour. Explore the honeycomb of underground tunnels, discover what conditions as a miner were really like, witness traditional mining equipment in action and see gold in its natural state. This 75 minute tour is wheelchair accessible and suitable for children aged three years and over. Dominated by a huge 22 metre high poppet head, the surface of the mine is a highlight in itself. Step inside heritage-listed buildings which were essential to the mine’s operation, including the old Blacksmith's Shop, the First Aid Room, Carbide Lamp Room and the impressive Engine Room.
