For part of the way this trail follows the coastline of the Westernport Bay – a significant part of the UNESCO Westernport Biosphere Reserve. Starting at the Frankston-Flinders Road and Graydens Road intersection with an urban footpath, this trail leads into the reserve along the foreshore at Hastings. With mangroves along the edge of the water, it passes the Hastings Pier with its historic Fish Shed, where pelicans can often be seen. Further along, it passes the Westernport Marina before heading inland along the edge of the Warringine Park, and finishing where Frankston-Flinders Road meets with Stony Point Road. This trail is part of the 27 kilometres Western Port Bay Trail that runs from Somerville to Balnarring. It joins the Somerville Trail to the north to the Bittern Trail section in the south. You could also add in a ride through the picturesque and significant wetlands of the Warringine boardwalk halfway....
