McQuade Park was planned by Lachlan Macquarie in 1810 as the abundant square that was to stand in front of St Matthews Church, Windsor. Today it is a lovely large park in historic Windsor featuring a large sporting field with a heritage rotunda, a children’s playground, toilets and picnic shelters. A large pond features at one end of the park, often used as a scenic backdrop for weddings and photos or a pleasant place to see the local ducks. Take the time to have a short stroll around the park. For those interested in early European history you will also find a large statue of Governor Macquarie. The statue is located directly opposite one of the great early churches and cemeteries in the Hawkesbury, New South Wales – St Matthews Church. The park has ample car parking available....
